Homeschooling

Every year thousands of parents decide to homeschool thier children. Many parents think that this will be an easy job only later do they learn that teaching your child at home can be a challenge for the parent and the child. People choose to homeschool their children for many different reasons. A few of the reasons parents choose to homeschool their children include a desire for religious and moral instruction, a desire for bonding time with children, a perception of safety issues at public schools and disciplinary problems. Basically parents have turned to educating their children at home so that they, not the public education system, will decide what they want for their children.

Nationally, approximately one million students are homeschooled, roughly four percent of the nation's public school enrollment. That is four percent of the total K-12 population.
