SeekOn Sample Web Site (Graphics and Links)

Here is an example of a more complicated SeekOn user web site. The picture to the left (Middleton Tavern in Annapolis, MD) is a JPG file uploaded via the site editor. It is 256 pixels wide and 222 pixels high and is a 34 Kbyte file.

You can get many license free pictures from clip-art and photo CDs available in computer stores or by downloading them from web art sites. To make your own pictures for web use you will need a digital camera or scanner with software which lets you adjust the size (measured in pixels) of the image and which allows you to produce image files in JPG or GIF format. (JPG is better for pictures, GIF is better for logos and other graphics.)

JPG files can be adjusted in software to trade somewhat reduced image quality for reduced file size. Images should be less than 40 K bytes for fast loading on browsers using slower connections.

GIF files for logos or graphics can have a white background or a transparent background so as to appear without a rectangular border. The logo to the left is 200 X 40 pixels and 1682 bytes.

The GIF format also allows animated graphics. This one is 23 X 15 pixels and 770 bytes.

Conference Room Schedule This is a text file (schedule.txt) which was prepared on a text editor (Windows Notepad) and uploaded to this site. If linking to a file on your own site you can use just the file name as the internet address (schedule.txt instead of http://free.seekon.com/samplesite2/schedule.txt)
